The ZZ plant is used to drought conditions, and it’s also a slow grower, so you won’t need to worry about it taking over space any time soon. Cast Iron Plant (Aspidistra)
Labelled as practically unkillable, the Cast Iron Plant makes the perfect office companion. It’s long, tropical appearing leaves help to purify the air and bring an exotic feel to any room. Favoured by the Victorians for their ability to live in polluted cities and even indoors (full of gas lamp fumes), the Apidistra is a common choice for a person’s first house plant due to the low level of care they require. Sometimes called Mother in Law’s Tongue, the snake plant is another excellent and sturdy option for anyone looking to add a bit of interest to their workspace. This is another excellent option if you are looking for a plant that you don’t have to think about apart from every couple of weeks when you will have to check it’s soil and potentially give it a bit of water. It can get by in just about any level of light but will do best with bright light.
