When the Herman Miller Aeron was introduced in the 1990s, it sent waves through the design world. The new remastered version has remained unchanged, having simply been updated to meet the needs of the modern day workforce and style of work. Herman Miller has updated the chair with guidance from the original designer, Don Chadwick. With this updated version, you’ll find that the iconic Aeron has been engineered to reflect the latest research around the science of sitting and utilises the latest advancements in available materials.
The Aeron continues to be a leading ergonomic chair, featuring a forward-thinking and dynamic design that reads your body and encourages movement. This includes 8 latitudinal zones across both the seat and the back that consist of varying tensions which envelope the sitter comfortably. These zones are tightest at the edges and more forgiving in the areas that the body makes contact. The Aeron also features pneumatic height adjustment, as well as a specialised balance recline, which allows the body to naturally pivot at the hips, ankles and knees.
The remastered Aeron also features a number of tilt options, including a tilt limiter, allowing the user to limit the degree to which they recline. The user is also able to select the tilt range and specialist features can even help to correct posture when typing.
Everything about the Herman Miller Aeron is designed to offer support, and the back support options include adjustable PostureFit SL, which provides a bespoke fit in both the lumbar and sacral regions of the spine. This helps to achieve proper posture and better back comfort. The adjustable arms go further in providing excellent comfort levels, and the pivoting arms allow you to rotate the arm pad both inwards (17.5 degrees) and outwards (15 degrees). These pads can also slide backwards and forwards for further personalisation.
